Supplier cost and price mapping
Shopify Supplier Price List CSV Update Mapper
Turn supplier SKU, barcode, new cost, and new selling price columns into a minimal Shopify cost and price update worksheet without building the update file by hand.
Browser-side scan
Drop a supplier list with SKU or Barcode and new cost and price
No CSV selected
This mapper is for merchants who receive a supplier price list that already carries Shopify identity (Variant SKU or barcode) alongside an updated cost and a new selling price. Everything runs locally in your browser with the File API, and no data is uploaded to a server. Upload a CSV with product identity (Variant SKU, Barcode, EAN, or UPC), a new supplier cost, and a new selling price column. The tool normalizes currency values, flags missing or invalid identifiers and amounts, detects duplicate identities, computes cost and price deltas against existing Cost per item and Variant Price columns when those are present, and exports a minimal Shopify-style update worksheet (identity plus Cost per item and Variant Price) with a review note. It does not call Shopify APIs and does not write, sync, or import anything to Shopify; any import stays a manual step you perform afterward.
Import blockers
Common causes this scan checks
- Supplier cost and retail prices change regularly but are keyed to a supplier SKU or barcode rather than a Shopify product handle.
- Updating thousands of variant costs and prices from a supplier list by hand in a spreadsheet is slow and error-prone.
- Cost and price changes need a review pass to confirm they match sourcing and pricing strategy before any Shopify update import.
- Merchants want a minimal update worksheet with only identity and price columns to avoid accidentally overwriting other product fields.
Workflow
How to use the cleaned CSV
- Prepare a CSV that carries product identity (Variant SKU, Barcode, EAN, or UPC), a new supplier cost, and a new selling price column.
- Upload the supplier price list and review the missing identity, invalid cost or price, and duplicate identity warnings.
- Check the cost and price delta notes to confirm the new values match your sourcing agreement and pricing strategy.
- Export the minimal cost and price update worksheet and import it into Shopify with a small test batch first.
Auto-fix policy
What the export can safely change
- Detects product identity (Variant SKU, Barcode, EAN, or UPC), new supplier cost, and new selling price columns from common aliases.
- Normalizes currency values deterministically (strips currency symbols, thousands separators, and surrounding whitespace).
- Computes cost and price deltas against existing Cost per item and Variant Price columns when those reference columns are present.
- Flags rows that cannot be safely mapped (missing or duplicate identity, invalid amounts, or cost at or above price) and marks the rest ready for the worksheet.

CSV example: supplier cost and price update mapping
The mapper detects SKU and barcode identity, normalizes the supplier costs and prices, computes cost and price deltas against the existing Shopify reference columns, and exports a minimal Shopify update worksheet with a review note so the new sourcing values can be checked before a manual import.

FAQ
Shopify CSV questions
Does this connect to my supplier system or my Shopify account?
No. The tool is browser-only and processes your CSV locally with the File API. It never calls Shopify APIs and never sends data to a supplier system; it only produces a worksheet you import yourself.
What if my supplier list uses a different identifier?
The tool reads Variant SKU, Barcode, EAN, and UPC columns. If your supplier uses a custom field, add a Variant SKU or Barcode column to the CSV so each row can be matched to a Shopify variant.
Can I update cost without changing price, or vice versa?
This single-file MVP expects both a new cost and a new price column in the input. If you only need one, use the bulk price update audit for price-only files, or include just the cost columns and ignore the price output.
What do the cost and price deltas mean?
A delta is the difference between the new supplier value and the current Shopify value when a reference column is present. Larger deltas (more than 10 percent or more than 5 in currency) are flagged so you can catch typos or strategy mismatches before importing.
